| We took Mommy to sushi and Mateo to trick or treating in Mountain View this year. The Mercy-Bush neighborhood is extremely popular and there are a couple homes that are so decked out, they are veritable tourist attractions (just follow the streams of people). This spot is so popular, in fact, that there was an evangelist on a soapbox (literally) this year condemning the holiday and those participating in it. He was even yelling at little kids! We think it's just old-school fun, dressing up and seeing other kids in their costumes, meeting homeowners in the neighborhood, checking out decorations, and eating candy.
Here are some trick or treating pics...
Elaborate pumpkins...
One house had a huge science display out front and the homeowners were dressed as scientists in lab coats. Being Silicon Valley, they probably ARE scientists. So cool.
A gorilla whose brain was being transferred...
Scary spider!
Earlier that day, we also went to a Harvest Festival at a local church...
Carnival games with cool prizes...
Bouncy house!
We borrowed another kid's super cool gingerbread cookie costume and made Mateo try it on. It was homemade!
Mateo was also a cowboy for a couple of hours...That's his regular winter hat. Yes, in the winter months, he walks around looking like Woody from Toy Story.
My lollipop, hehe!

| Costume Parade at Mateo's School. Dan got to go, but I was home with the baby. So cute. Can you find my little dinosaur?
There he is!
Moo! Grrr!
I hope he went pee before getting into his costume.
I'm glad we paid for a real costume for him. It just makes these events all that more fun and memorable for him. |

| Sarina got this goat pal from a friend. She already marked it as hers by getting a bit of poo on its arm. I guess she's trying to make sure that Mateo doesn't get his hands on it.
What, WHO has the weirder hair? Me or this goat? Hint: Don't say it's me.
